BAFM launched its exciting new biennial travel award in 2016.
Thanks to the most generous support of an anonymous donor there was one award totalling up to £2,000 in each of 2016 and 2018 and there will be another in 2020.
The 2016 Award was won by Daniel Jessop of Littleborough, and the 2018 Award was won by Abigail Flack.
Applications next year will be invited for 2020, from committed volunteers of any age (who devote many hours supporting a museum or gallery), or young professionals who are starting their careers in the museum world.
Funded travel could be within the UK or abroad and winners will spend time at their chosen destination working behind the scenes in order to extend their experience and make contacts for the future. Alternatively the travel could be in the form of a short duration internship or the chance to work alongside a respected specialist.
