BAFM, in partnership with The Friends of Bristol Museums, Galleries & Archives look forward to welcoming you for this year’s BAFM Annual Conference. As appropriate for such a colourful and diverse city our theme is

and in the heritage, we support.

Speakers speakers will be drawn from a wide range of heritage backgrounds, including Bristol museums, the University of the West of England and the Royal West of England Academy,

The event will take place at M Shed, our dockside museum focused on the history of our city, which opened in 2011 to much acclaim. The building is in the heart of Bristol.

Our guest speaker for the dinner on Saturday evening will be Marc Allum, all-round antiques expert known to many of you from BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.

Outside the formal conference there are several world class attractions to visit, such as Brunel’s SS Great Britain, and for those extending their stay beyond the conference a frequent bus service would take you in under an hour to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath.
Getting to Bristol is easy from all parts of the UK with direct trains from across the country, and the M4 and M5 making it very accessible by car. for getting around the city, and many of the attractions are within easy walking distance.
